On Language

Language is like a dying antenna. It relays the world poorly, distorts it, blurs it and makes it hard to see. Thinking with language forces things into predetermined mold and anything that doesn’t fit is discarded. On the other hand the singing of whales, the chirping of birds, the swimming of seals has always represented the world richly. I’m sure people were like that long ago. Like the whales, like the creatures of the ocean. At that time we were part of the sea itself… the Universe itself. In the past humans were noble beasts. – Children of the Sea by Daisuke Igarashi

Art Quote for the Day

Color Paint Glaze

” I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically. In whom feelings are much stronger than reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me.  Anything I can not transform into something marvelous , I let go.  Reality doesn’t impress me, I only believe the intoxication , in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me,  I escape , one way or another.. No more walls.”  – Anais Nin

The Perfumed Garden

“Woman is like a fruit which will only yield its fragrance when rubbed by the hands. Take for example the basil: unless it be warmed by the fingers, it emits not perfume. And do you know that unless amber is warmed and manipulated it retains its aroma within? The same with women; if you do not animate her with your frollics and kisses, with nibbling of her thighs and close embraces, you will not obtain what you desire: you will experience no pleasure when she shares your couch and she will feel no affection for you.”
